Luis Rodriguez - Always Running

The Latino Writers collective in conjunction with Guadalupe Centers Inc. invites you to an afternoon town hall with Luis Rodriguez. Author of over 14 books of poetry, fiction and non-fiction, Rodriguez is one of the most influential Chicano writers of his generation. Rodriguez will hold an open conversation regarding youth and gangs. Rodriguez’s Always Running: La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A., is a memoir of gang life. With more than 300,000 copies sold, the book garnered a Carl Sandburg Literary Award, a Chicago Sun-Times Book Award, and was designated a New York Times Notable Book. In addition to his literary achievements, he is a renowned gang intervention specialist. His 2001 book Heart & Hands: Crafting Community in Violent Times (Seven Stories), documents his thirty years of field experience.
