I received this poem from Ricardo today:

Downtown Bus Rides
Ricardo Parra
May 25, 2006

Mom and I waited in the cold
morning winter air
for the bus
that took us downtown
where we transferred
to go to the children’s hospital
for weekly asthma shots,
exams and skin tests
every Thursday.

We did this for five years.

I was the translator at age 7.

(At least this is the way I remembered it.)
